The agency that is Republic Underwriters, Inc. today began to truly take form in 1939. E. Parker Dickinson had worked for several years for a large insurance agency in charge of Probate and other bonds, and in 1939 a partnership was formed when he joined his father in offices in the David Stott Building.
Arthur Dickinson, grandson of the founder, joined the firm in 1960, following several years as an Insurance Adjuster with a major Detroit company gaining a comprehensive knowledge of all phases of insurance. Arthur Dickinson is deceased, and his son Scott Dickinson, CPIA, LIC, CLCS, CAWC, PLCS, SBCS, is the President. Scott Dickinson rejoined the firm in 2009 after a 9-year career at Grange Life Insurance Company, Columbus, OH as a Life Insurance Sales Specialist. Scott is a Licensed Insurance Counselor and has a Property/Casualty License and Life and Health License, he also holds a Surplus Lines License in many States. Scott has extensive Life Insurance and Annuity experience as well as Commercial Insurance and Bonds. In 2016, Scott joined Coto Insurance and Financial as a Financial Advisor, located in Irvine, California, he is currently helping his clients with financial planning and working with Vicki Gunvalson who appears on Real Housewives of Orange County.
